Jack Daniels

Scenes from Lynchburg

A wonderful collection of 1 litre bottles produced for European markets

Both the front and rear of the bottles are printed directly on to the glass rather than the use of labels.

Numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the 1 litre European bottles are in the 'Dan Call' style bottles whereas 4, 5, 6 and 7 are in the new heritage design.

Due to their popularity in Europe the Jack Daniel Distillery are now producing these bottles in a 750ml version for the U.S.A. market.

Scenes From Lynchburg

Number One

This is the first in a series of bottles depicting life in Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of Jack Daniel Distillery. The statue of Jack Daniel, erected in 1941 by his nephew Lem Motlow, stands near our limestone cave spring, flowing at 56'F year round, is used to make our whiskey. We still make Jack Daniel's using the methods our founder prescribed back in 1866; and from his vantage point at the center of our distillery, Mr. Jack still watches over each and every drop.

Number Two

This is the second in a series of bottles depicting life in Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of Jack Daniel Distillery. A barrel truck, stocked with full whiskey barrels, makes it's way up Distillery Lane toward one of the many aging houses which dot these Tennessee hills. Once it arrives at the aging house the 400-lb. barrels will be rolled into a designated resting place, where they will sleep for years until the whiskey inside has matured. Just another typical day here at America's oldest registered distillery.

Number Three

This is the third in a series of bottles depicting life in Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of Jack Daniel Distillery. In the heart of the town square, directly across from the county courthouse, the Lynchburg Hardware & General Store is open for business. Here, folks can find most anything they need, from a good pocket knife to expert fishing advise. The Hardware Store was built in 1912 by Lem Motlow, nephew of Jack Daniel, and the wooden bench outside has been a welcome rest stop for locals and visitors alike ever since.

Scenes From Lynchburg

Number Four

This is the fourth in a series of bottles depicting life in Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of Jack Daniel Distillery. Making good sipping whiskey takes time. And there's no better way to pass the time than whittling a sweet smelling piece of cedar. There's an art to seeing how many tightly curled shavings can be coaxed from a cedar stick. Just as there's an art to painstakingly mellowing whiskey drop by drop through hard maple charcoal. Both arts are all but forgotten. Unless, of cause, you happen to live in Lynchburg.

Scenes From Lynchburg

Number Five

This is the fifth in a series of bottles depicting life in Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of the Jack Daniel Distillery. When it came to making his Tennessee Whiskey, Jack Daniel was rock solid in his determination to make it the best her could. This 600 pound bronze statue of Mr. Jack is a reminder of his commitment. Sculptured by an artist in Nashville, it has been standing guard in front of the distillery's cave spring since September 2000, which happens to have been Mr. Jacks 150th birthday. It replaced the original marble statue that stood there for nearly 60 years, which is now located inside the Distillery's Visitor Center.

Scenes From Lynchburg

Number Six

This is the sixth in a series of bottles depicting life in Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of the Jack Daniel Distillery. The rolltop desk where Jack Daniel conducted his day-to-day business is still on display inside the old office that was built when his distillery went into operation back in 1866. Same for the potbellied stove, which came in handy when days in the office got to be on the chilly side. And when it came to the business of making our Tennessee Whiskey, we still go by what Mr. Jack said: Every day we make it, we'll make it the best we can.

Scenes From Lynchburg

Number Seven

This is the seventh in a series of bottles depicting life in Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of the Jack Daniel Distillery. When folks travel to the Distillery, the first thing they see here is the Visitor Center that opened in 2000. Nestled amongst some of the Hollow's prettiest trees, the center is a welcoming sight to visitors from all over the world. It houses an assortment of artifacts and other items that provide a glimpse into the history of Jack Daniel's. Simply put, the Distillery's Visitor Center is an ideal starting point for folks wanting to find out firsthand how we make our Tennessee Whiskey. We hope you have a chance to visit us yourself some day.

Here we have the card boxes and tag designed for the European one litre Scenes From Lynchburg Number 5 & 6 bottles.

For some unknown reason (probably cost) the distillery only released a small amount of these with boxes therefore they are quite rare and much sort after by collectors.
